Apple Crisp for Two

Apple Crisp for Two via The Taste Tester

Apple crisp is one of my all time favorite things to eat. My dad makes it throughout each fall season and has ever since I was a little girl. This apple crisp is simple but delicious and my recipe is scaled down for two people (since david and I do not need more than that). Make your apple crisp even more delicious by eating it a la mode or with some milk poured on top.
I randomly decided to make this over the weekend because we had two apples that had passed the "eat me for a snack" phase into the "bake yummy things with me!" phase.

Apple Crisp for Two

1/3 cup flour
1/3 cup oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
2 1/2 Tbsp butter or margarine, melted
2 Granny Smith Apples, peeled, cored and sliced

Grease 2 (2-Cup) ramekins with non-stick cooking spray. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in medium bowl. Melt butter in microwave and stir into dry ingredients until it becomes crumbly.

Peel, core, and slice apples. Put one apple's worth of slices in each ramekin.

Top each ramekin with half of crisp topping mixture.

Bake for 20-30 minutes or until apples are tender and crisp topping is golden brown.
