Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice

It is officially fall now, as of Saturday. Aaaaaaaand since I know you are like me and you love all things pumpkin, I thought I would share this very short informational post. It is going to prepare you for the loads of pumpkin recipes that you will see on pinterest, other blogs, and my blog this fall.

Like I said. This will be short.

Save yourself some money and make your own pumpkin pie spice.

It's easy, and quick. Chances are you already have most (if not all) of the spices you'll need. The only challenge in making this might actually only be digging through the chaotic mound of duplicates in your spice cupboard to find what you need.

Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice with spices you most likely already have in your cupboard!

Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice

Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons allspice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cloves
Cooking Directions
  1. Combine spices in a small bow, mix well to combine. Store in a small jar or spice container.
5 out of 5 stars

Don't tell the spice company with the red lids this, but if your spices nice and fresh*, this homemade mix is better than theirs. The end.

*It is recommended that you use up spices within six months of buying them because they lose fragrance and flavor the longer they are stored (especially if they are ground, and not whole spices).
